A Madonna campaign just wouldn’t be right without a little controversy.
For, after releasing the well received clip that is ‘Girl Gone Wild‘ last week, it has been restricted by YouTube, deemed too raunchy to be seen by the masses.
Details below…
According to the New York Post, YouTube viewers who wish to watch the clip must now verify they are over 18 before they are allowed to watch it.
They explain:
YouTube chiefs have restricted the video for those 18 years or above, and sources tell us they’ve told the superstar’s management that if they want it to be available for viewing by all, they must edit out shots of bare bottoms, a man rubbing his crotch and an implied masturbation scene where a man gyrates before a mirror.
Sure to generate a buzz for the commercially ill fated ‘MDNA’, the video’s restriction forced the icon’s publicist to respond with:
Some things never change. This is a throwback to [1990] when MTV refused to show ‘Justify My Love’.
As of now, Camp Ciccone are said to be editing out any ‘questionable’ scenes from the video, readying a ‘PG’ version of the clip for YouTube ahead of her LP’s March 26th release.
